Introducing Foodie Fridays!

If you’re a regular reader of my blog or follow me on social media, then you know that I like to cook.

I’m regularly asked how I manage to find time to do so. Sometimes, there’s an underlying presumption that because I’m a VC, I have plenty of free time (I wish!). That presumption often leads to the corollary: if I were a founder, I wouldn’t possibly have time to cook.

Here’s the thing: back when I was a founder, I regularly cooked (both for myself and as a means to get friends over to my house to socialize). A big part of this is that I genuinely enjoy cooking and find it relaxing. But I also know that it’s incredibly important to eat healthy. And even founders with little-to-no free time can do so.

Which got me thinking: why not share some of my recipes, tips and tricks with all of you?

So to kick off the new year, I’m introducing Chris Neumann’s Foodie Fridays!

Every Friday, I’ll share a recipe that’s delicious, approachable and designed to fit within the busy schedule of a founder, investor, VC, early startup employee…or pretty much anyone. There will be main courses, side dishes, appetizers and more. Some will be my own recipes. Many will be adapted from my collection of cookbooks and favorite blogs (with attribution, of course). None will be boring.

A few of my cookbooks…

Now, I realize that some of you might not be interested in my culinary musings, but I’m willing to bet that the intersection of “people interested in startups, VCs and Canada” and “people who like to eat” is pretty sizeable 😉.

So without further ado, here is my first Foodie Friday post: Red Wine-Braised Short Ribs.
